Animal hospitals under the VetSchool

The VetSchool includes two state of the art animal hospitals where the new generations of vets are trained in surgery, reproduction and medical treatment of our pets and production animals.

The hospitals are the only veterinary teaching hospitals in Denmark. The specially trained staff within the various clinical areas of expertise treats the clients and together with the vet students offers the best possible treatment.

The University Hospital for Companion Animals

Is located in Frederiksberg/Copenhagen and is both a regular clinic where clients bring their companion animals for treatment, and an advanced animal hospital for its own patients and patients referred from private vets all over Denmark.

The University Teaching Hospital for Large Animals

Is located in Taastrup outside Copenhagen and is a modern hospital specialized in horses receiving patients from all over Denmark. It runs a mobile unit for outpatients and a teaching unit with referred as well as specifically acquired animals for teaching purposes (cows, sheep, goats).

The referral hospital receives a wide range of patients from the ”rare case” to plain castrations.  Together the categories support the research based teaching we offer our students.
