About the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science

The School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (Vetschool) offers the only veterinary education in Denmark. The veterinary education is accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). Our teaching is research based, and lectures as well as clinical training are taught by veterinarian research staff.

The Vetschool assures high quality candidates who in turn contribute to solving public issues of animal health, animal welfare, and food safety and disseminate knowledge about the connections between human and animal health (the One Health / One Medicine concept).

The candidates meet the requirements for Day-1 competences, being the minimum standards set down in the study programme for veterinary surgeons in European Union Directive 2005/36.

The Vetschool Strategy plan can be seen here: UCPH School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (VetSchool) Strategy 2023-2026.

Director of the School is professor Charlotte Reinhard Bjørnvad, Dyrlægevej 16, 1870 Frederiksberg C, tlf.: + 45 35332864, crb@sund.ku.dk
